I really like this series, it's so refreshing and old school mystery it's sheer fun! I love the florid, descriptive prose that flows naturally and doesn't seem hokey - it blends right into the story and belongs there.The twist with Norma Sean at the end is great! I won't go into any spoilers, but I'm looking forward to another episode and more from this new, talented author.

The author has a solid voice and a great sense of humor at that. The writing style is different in the way “Twin Peaks” was jarring back in the day from other shows on at the time. Some people might not be able to get into it. Once you do get into it, it’s a rewarding ride into a huge world with a lot of LGBT characters that soon become like old friends you hate to leave like in the “Tales from the City” series. Story over structure, but I think all writers have their own personal style. That’s what makes reading different authors so fun.
